At the peak of its powers, a marginal walker was getting about under a 1000 hits a day, with a few comments and a good number of private emails. Now that is not happening anymore. Its like starting all over again. Im currently getting 5 hits per day and about 20 spam comments to add to the falling ratings. Now, is it the good summer weather that has contributed to the near non readership as well as my blogging sabbatical? Or are my blog postings just devoid of interest? Keep Your Email Safe from Spambots
[TypePad Tips] Hey John - the email address has to be un-encoded at some point, so I think Firefox is just reading that - likewise, you can see the email address in the status bar at the bottom of the page. Akismet Worst Offenders Extension
[boakes.org] Akismet is arguably more effective because the techniques it uses for recognition can adapt over time. If a side by side test of dynamic -vs- static system were conducted over 10 years, it’s possible (maybe even likely) that static could beat dynamic initially, but once enough bots can circumvent the static system, it’s game over.
