Fourth Circuit issues important CAN-SPAM decision

[Internet Cases - Evan Brown - Attorney - Internet law - intellectual property - Chicago, Illinois] Mummagraphics, Inc., No. 05-2080, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit has ruled in favor of accused spammers, in a decision which, as Professor Goldman states, is likely to "take some wind out of the sails of anti-spam plaintiffs."

If you really want to have a list of blogs belonging to friends, either link to them using nofollow, or stick the links on a seperate "friends" page. Spam and book promotion

[deblog] I suppose there must be some bloggers out there who don't care much if there's trash in their commments and would let the spam stay, and I suppose there are blog readers who won't hold it against you if you're dishonestly trying to promote your book. But then again there's me: not only have I deleted the comments and banned the IPs, but I might have done more.

I’m being moderated by Spam Filters

[TechZOnline.net] Spam Karma 2 has this thing (feature?) whereby it checks the past history of someone commenting on your blog and if he/she seems to hold good credentials (i.e. comments without being moderated) it won’t bother them about posting more than the usual amount of links in a comment.

Stop Comment Spam and Trackback Spam on WP

This meant that if a real comment got mis-tagged as spam, and it was more than 150 entries ago, I couldn’t retrieve it to un-tag it.

Slow comments in WordPress
