The roller coaster that is life takes a dip, a twist, and a turn for the cuddly

http://elbiesee.livejournal.com [Tempest in a B Cup] First, a bit of bragging... I was sent to fly solo today at work. I was in charge for at least three (sometimes more; depending on the time of day)...

Amusement Corner

http://aadroma.livejournal.com [Roger Nyström's Journal] Yeah, I had that earlier today -- I've before commented about the site Spamusement, where spam subject lines are interpreted in various quickly-drawn cartoons. The most active part of the site for a while's been the forum where other people offer up masterpieces like this comic here.

Spam or Clever Marketing?

Traded Aksimet for Spam Karma 2

http://just-thinkin.net [Just Thinkin’] However, it appears that I’m not the only one whose having problems with immediately disappearing Aksimet spam comments and I had the same problem when I rolled back to the previous version (from 2.0 to 1.8.1) and since it’s a service external to my blog, I have to suspect that the problem is with the service and not a local WP install or plugin problem.

Spam, Spam, and more Blog Spam!

http://tech.cybernetnews.com [CyberNet News: Keeping you plugged in!] If it weren’t for programs like Akismet, or Spam Karma, blogs would be filled with thousands of spam messages. I always wonder if spammers really think that people will click on the clearly off-topic, many times X-rated links that have nothing to do with the post which it’s placed on, to even make their obnoxious efforts worth it.

Give a little link love say no to nofollow remove the link condoms

http://www.yackyack.co.uk [ Yack Yack] Thats the thing with this nofollow lark, i really do think it has a genuine place in the tech landscape. I just think its all gained a bit of a negative connotation lately, what with all this link purchase and algo manip confrontation stuff. Some people bound that trust word round with far too much regularity.

Following the NoFollow

http://blog.searchanyway.com [SearchAnyway PPC - Online Search Marketing Guide for Webmasters] After all, I did use Carsten Cumbrowski's reasoning in a way he probably didn't intend it to be used, and took up issue with Greywolf. Consequently, Andy Beard left a great comment--but I still stand by my original point.

My new monetization model: Pay me and you get follow

http://www.centernetworks.com [CenterNetworks - News, Reviews, Insights and Interviews] It seems to me that this goes against the spirit of why the nofollow attribute was created. Your using a device created to limit spam in user generated comments to extort (a bit strong - I can't think of a better word at the moment) money for content you've posted on your own site.

Yet Another Insurace Company

http://recruiter-rater.zhrodague.net [Recruiter-Rater | find and rate technical recruiters on your way to a new job] I guess as I'm still breathing, I'm still a good match for doing something I know nothing about. Israel Spammer Two

http://willmacc.wordpress.com [ A Daily Rant] So I sat back couple days and let the spammer post their spam comments. I copied each one of them into a text file until I had about 50 to 60 of them and then sent another email to the abuse address and attached the text file to the email.

Advanced Spam Killing

[Sickles Insight] If the spam seaps past the blockades put in place today, my next step will have to be asking a challenge question to each comment submitted. John Chow found a plugin he recently highlighted that does the job with a question or questions of your choice instead of asking you to read a box with barely legible letters and numbers (at least I think that is whats in the box).
