[bbum's weblog-o-mat] By large batch, I mean 30 to 100 spamments a day. This may have been because Akismet’s central server was down or because the spammers hit my weblog with a pattern that hadn’t been updated in the central store.

Stephen's Lighthouse: Blog Spam

[Stephen's Lighthouse] The filter does a pretty good job of moving it into am junk folder for review later. I will admit that I don't always look through this as finely as I should (who has the time!?) since I found too many legitimate comments in the junk folder this weekend.

[Ask Dave Taylor!] I know because when I logged in to MySpace a few days ago and went through my friend requests, there were a couple that were clearly spammers, with porn pics as their profiles and idiotic account names like "best beach diet plan" and such. Bah, the bane of online existence.
