[Comments for Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems» Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems & Marketing Strategy] Well, I started with Spam Karma and was happy with until one bad day came - my hosting provider closed my account because it was using too much of CPU resources, mostly because of DB queries generated by spambots and Spam Karma fighting them. Changing the hosting company isn't an easy task, especially when you want to get you site running again - I had to get rid of Spam Karma and switch to Akismet.

Blog Spam
[sociallysour.org] I use to use Spam Karma on the blog back in the day, but have stopped using any real spam filter on comments since it was not supported. Wordpress has a pretty decent black list system you can use and I always tend to keep comment posting to only if pre approved.

[My two cents] This is the first time I’ve had a blog that allowed for comments (although as you can see there really are not that many). Just in case some smart-ass started being annoying, I decided to moderate all comments before letting them go up on the website.

Nofollow Advertisers Problem | Atniz - Work From Home
[Atniz - Work From Home] Personally, a few social network sites and webmaster tools I wrote about in the past for paid links, have become some of my most favourite sites now =) I usually prefer the nofollow ones though, like on socialspark. I also hope that Alexa ranking is going to get more popular between advertisers, and a measure to judge a blog’s traffic, because at least it’s not penalizing to either advertisers nor blogger.

[Gary Pendergast] I still think nofollow should be used by default as not every wordpress admin is as judicious as yourself. If peoples blogs/sites are relevant enough on their own merits they shouldn’t need the extra push that comment links give them.
