In muchthe same way that spammers once used invalid domains in the envelopesender address and now almost never do (because large MTAs startedchecking that), spammers are perfectly capable of adopting to use validEHLO names and to only sending from machines with valid reverse DNS,if they actually need to.

[Working and WordPress-ing] For example, today when I checked my blog’s spam queue, I found one comment posted about a week ago by another WP blogger. I guess the reason why that comment was caught was that in the comment was URL of the page I was being invited to visit.

[Wetpixel.com] Spammers have recently started using Wetpixel as a destination for marketing links by putting unrelated content in newly created users' forum profile pages. This means that a spam message blasted out in an email somewhere out there might contain a link to Wetpixel, which would unwittingly have become a host for spam content.

[/Message] It's collusion: Cision and the companies that have bought the lists all have an obligation to be sure they are not involved in activities deemed illegal by the CAN-SPAM act. Cision has an obligation to ask for opt-in if they intend to sell mailing lists to others, and they have the obligation to disclose the opt-in status of mailing lists.

Beware of Trackback Spam on Drupal
[Eli the Computer Guy] I studiously kept track of my comments to make sure no one was posting garbage to my site, but then one day I went back to reference an old post and there were hundreds of spam links under the post. I opened other old posts and found the same results.

Spammers Newest Tactic: YouTube Video Spam
[ReadWriteWeb] Just because someone is using YouTube to sell something, that doesn't necessarily mean it's video "spam." That moniker should only be reserved for videos which are truly undesirable messages where fraudulent activities are underway. The question is, how will YouTube know?

Craigslist Expands Legal Battle Against Spammers - Bits Blog ...
[Bits] From a single boat ad I placed on Craigslist, I received 14 spam responses including 2 phishing invites to identity theft, several B/S job offers, the ususal fraulent money order offers to buy, but most disturbingly, the request to change my password to my online bank account (it looked like the bank send it). I hope Craigslist puts this Red Trumpet and all their related thieves-in-business, out of business - permanently.

[Tech Blog] Many web sites are moving away from Flash because of the improvements in HTML as well as the recognition that Flash won't run on the iPhone.
