[(08/12) how now, brownpau?] Adminshop, Reffy, and Referrer Log "Marketing": (A note to companies thinking of resorting to referrer log marketing: don't. It's annoying and unethical, it has little effect on your search engine rankings since most referrer logs are private, and your money is wasted on a few lines of code that any script kiddie could throw together in ten minutes.

[Daves Chalkboard] Referral spam generator: Reffy - reffy dot net (I won't even come close to giving them a link!) Reffy dot net is dedicated to exposing the exciting potentialities of referrer marketing, a field that was pioneered with the powerful windows-based tool named Reffy, which we sell here.

Spamhuntress.comhttp://spamhuntress.com [Spamhuntress.com] Spam Huntress » Blog Archive » Revenge referrer run?: I just came across this great blog by accident and I would really like to know better how to track these creeps down who run a lot of these fly-by-night sites and operations, not just the spam, but that too, so they can be reported, identified, shared with anti-spam sites, etc.

Kuro5hin.orghttp://www.kuro5hin.org [Kuro5hin.org] Referer Spam Redux || kuro5hin.org: This is old hat to anyone who's been involved in anti-spam efforts in other domains (Usenet and email spring to mind), but just like everything else, the weblogging community seems intent on (a) thinking they're special and unique and nobody has ever had their problems before, and proceeding to (b) ignore all the work that has come before and reinventing the wheel. Perhaps this is what happened to me?
