Targeting Spam > Livefyre does not block Wordpress Trackbacks
[Personal Blog of Justin Germino] However, I was able to remove GASP, Ajax Edit Comments, Akismet, ReplyMe, Subscribe to Comments by using Livefyre so using the Livefyre comment system allows me to remove 5 other WordPress plugins which reduces load on my blog and helps keep it trim. As Livefyre requires a user to return to your blog post to reply to a comment it was redundant to have ReplyMe installed and sending out a 2nd email to a user to return to the blog and comment since Livefyre automatically sends email when comment is replied to (unless user changes their Livefyre account to disable notifications).

[Basic Blog Tips] Why I'm Not Installing Livefyre on Basic Blog Tips: I have readers who come to me asking for my personal review of products, services and Wordpress plugins and none of my other blogs had enough traffic or comments for me to properly test the Livefyre system and be able to provide proper feedback. I needed a blog that had 50-100 comments per day to really put an external comment system through it’s paces.
[Atlanta Public Relations & Social Media | Davina K. Brewer] Marketing, Public Relations, Social Media | 3Hats Communications: My favorite request of the moment, which none of these does at present, is one I hope LiveFyre adopts soon (if possible). When I’m commenting on someone’s blog, I’d like to see whether or not I follow previous commenters on Twitter or not, and have the ability to follow directly from that comment stream without ever leaving that site.
[Themergency] Free Akismet Alternatives | Themergency: If Automatic makes it impossible to use Akismet without paying it should be removed from the WordPress package totally. In fact I believe they've removed a number of other plugins from the repository entirely because they were 100% paid or so reduced in functionality that they were useless without paying.
[Basic Blog Tips] 5 Popular WordPress Plugins You Need to Ditch - Basic Blog Tips: I couldn’t agree with you more about all of these plugins, especially WP Greet Box and Sexy Bookmarks, in fact the only one I actually use at the moment is Akismet, and i’m so glad I read this, I might have some good comments buried, which isn’t a nice thought really. Especially if people have put a lot of effort into commenting:( –
[nittyGriddy] SuperPost Sunday - Weekly Roundup #29 | nittyGriddy: Plus your dancing with the stars preparation with @johnfalchetto:disqus for next season and the Uzbek themed restaurant you @troyclaus:disqus and @dannybrown:disqus are opening in the Maldives how do you have time to read and put all this great stuff together for us? Oh and don’t forget the fact you haven’t finished the democratization of the middle east and north africa yet (this really is taking too long btw) and with you being the lead negotiator for the Israel-Palestine peace process still going on (for years now why hello!!!)
[unmarketing] UnMarketing » Blog Archive » The Five Words That Kill Your Blog: As a reader, I would never take the time to register to post, I find Captcha unbearably annoying (I can’t see them for some reason) and I find moderating comments arrogant.nnI think many people who do this are newer bloggers who just don’t “get it”
[The Sales Lion by Marcus Sheridan] 7 Signs Other than Traffic that TRULY Indicate a Blog Article's ...: In other words, if someone leaves a comment on my blog who doesnt have an avatar, I know they are likely not a ”blogger per se, but rather a business owner, a company employee learning about marketing, etc. Its these people that often turn into my actual clients and are a great indicator as to a bloggers ability to engage his or her community on a higher level.
[nittyGriddy] Bring IT! What Are your Blogging Pet Peeves? | nittyGriddy: I had a little problem when I updated to WP 3.1 and a few of my plugins aren’t working properly. The only reason I haven’t bothered fixing it yet is because my site is currently undergoing a redesign and therefore will have a revamped look within the next week or so.
