Referrer spam?

[Business Forum UK - Advice Help and Questions - A1 Forums] Does anyone know what can be done about referral spam? I have two - associated on digging a little deeper, websites that are producing quite a high referral stat and I'm unsure how, or if it's possible to stop it.

Heads up. No referral spam to adsense sites

[My '56 Chevy] Just got an email form google saying no referral spam. Don't know how they figured it out but I just said I hired a guy to do promotions and didn't know what he was doing and they said ok don't do it again.

search.live.com Referral Spam

[Rob Ferrer's Thoughts and Writings] explanation (including instructions on how to block it), which partially explains them, but the Microsoft response is clearly rubbish. As far as I’m concerned, this is just referrer spam, and another reason not to use Live Search!

What the spammers are hoping is that for servers that publish their top referrals, then their site will be featured and will get picked up by search engines.

 [Photochopz.com - Photoshop Forums Contests and Tutorials] Whats up with the recent barrage of youtube refferal spam? Is this some new trend? usually we only get referral spam from p0rn or v1agra sites but recently its been mostly from crappy youtube videos. Anyone else getting a lot of this?
